Andy Jenks - General Partner 

“I like to be helpful where and when necessary.  I’ve done a few things right, but also made plenty of mistakes that I hope our family of companies can learn from.”

Like most born entrepreneurs and early stage investors, Andy has worn multiple hats throughout his career. Prior to Stage One, Andy has written code, raised money, built sales teams, led marketing teams, managed hundreds of people, and grown businesses from incubation to acquisition.  Most recently he served as the CEO of Autonomy Optimost, the revenue optimization and online testing division at Autonomy, a $6Billion FTSE 100 UK software company.  Andy also has been successful as a founder and startup leader.  In 2002 Andy founded Discovery Mining, a widely recognized leader in the SaaS based electronic discovery software market.  Discovery Mining won multiple awards, including #188 on the 2007 Inc 500 and #18 on the Silicon Valley Deloitte Fast 50.  Discovery Mining was acquired by Interwoven in 2008 and Andy remained on-board as Vice President for the new Electronic Discovery division within Interwoven.  Andy led the integration of Discovery Mining within Interwoven; this integration resulted in a doubling of revenue 6 months post acquisition for Discovery Mining.  Andy began his technology career at Alexa where he was a software engineer building search based algorithms for the 7 petabyte web crawl. Alexa was acquired by where Andy was part of the research division involved with Amazon’s recommendation engine.


Rick Wittenbraker - General Partner

Rick is a seasoned entrepreneur and business developer with a broad experience base, both in the US and abroad.  In early 2009, Rick founded BlueLine Strategies, a strategic marketing firm for growth-stage companies. BlueLine has delivered revenue results for a broad range of clients, helping one client achieve #140 on the 2010 Inc 500 list.  Prior to founding BlueLine, Rick served as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Sales for Patton Medical Devices, a start-up medical device company focused on innovative solutions for patients with diabetes. Before Patton, he worked as an International Commodities Trader for Metelmann Trading, Inc. (a division of Neumann Gruppe GmbH) and was Assistant Vice President - International Business Development for private equity firm Crown Group, Inc., working for several years in Latin America.
